Fanfic or Original Fic, w/e : )

Comment with the title of one of my fics, and a number (or two!), and I will tell you...

1. What was my inspiration for this fic? How did it come to me?
2. What’s my favorite part of the fic?
3. What’s the part of the fic I’m most proud of?
4. What part of the fic was the hardest for me to write?
5. What part of the fic am I still dissatisfied with?
6. Who’s my favorite character in the fic?
7. Were there any major decisions I made about the fic that could have made it go a whole different direction?
8. Was there anything I only learned about the fic after I had finished it? (themes, motifs, symbolism, etc)
9. Did anyone in the fic surprise me by doing anything? If so, what?
10. If I had to sum up this fic in a sentence, what would it be?
11. If I were to rewrite this fic, what would I change?
12. Did any thing about this fic’s reception surprise me?
13. What were my beta’s major comments about the first draft of this fic?
14. If I were to write a sequel to this fic, what would it be about?
15. Any other question about the fic!

Not Looking 'verse

Hi! I'm kind of a luker, but I really enjoy your writing. Right now I have "Home is Where You Are" in to read list. I love the Not Looking verse so i'm very curious about your mindset while writing it.

Lurker! *clings to you* Thank you so much for your question : )

Ooo, my mindset...idk. Well, it started as a prompt, which I don't usually work from but it was a auction prize, I think. I suppose I wanted to break away from a lot of the A/B/O fics I'd read, where the omegas are basically slaves, and I thought the idea of werewolves, and omegas particularly, being liberated was a nice way to keep those tropes but challenge them too.

I also really liked the idea that Jensen had been brought up by people who had no way of teaching him the werewolf culture so he was coming to Jared with a completely different mindset than other werewolves that Jared might have met before.

I think I wrote that Jared had never imagined being mated before so ending up with Jensen is the best possible outcome as Jensen challenges him and kinda keeps him on his toes.

I do really want to write some more of this. I'm just nervous as the next part of the story is very sad and I don't want to leave it too long before I can find the time to write the (very) happy ending : )

Hope that makes sense. Let me know if you'd like to know anything else! Always lovely to speak to lurkers ♥ xx

Lol : ) Have to say I've been blown away by the response from the AO3 readers about the take down. Everyone's so supportive ♥

My inspiration for Gazes was that I walk Lily super early everyday, and at the time I was walking past an office building for an insurance company at about 6 in the morning, every morning. And every morning I would see the security guards sitting behind the faux wood desk in the blue fluorescent light next to the plastic fern. And I wondered if they thought I was weird walking past all the time or whether they noticed me at all...and whether they would notice if I suddenly stopped coming by one day.
And it went from there really.
I did try to foist the plot bunny off on Homopink when she asked for story ideas and thats when I knew I had to write it. I got so protective of it all of a sudden. So I wrote it.

My favorite part...lummy...um...I like when Jason falls and ends up angry kissing John. I like when Greg comes over and Marty sticks his head over the back of the couch and just embarrasses everyone. I love it when John kills Mark, and when Chris calls to say Bennett is dead...IDK...I think I'm really happy with the bit when John is remembering being shot. I thought that turned out just the way I could see it. Although Ch1 of book two has turned out pretty nice ; ) xxx

I sometimes wonder of the people we see but don't speak to or know in any way would notice if we just stopped coming around. From that tiny acorn did a huge monster of an oak of a story grow :D xx

I want you to know that I was like OK, this is fun...and now I'm just at your AO3 reading all the dirty dirty porn. It's pathetic really.

My Good News Day. #14.

(this is me wanting to hear about more manhandling and bossy sex)

#15 give me some more Dom!Dean dialogue XD

see, seriously, I'm shameless and pathetic.

The porn is there to be read! Do the thing! : )

A sequel...well, there's not going to be a sequel (I can hear you booing)...however...I am planning on turning the parent fic, Sunday Maybe Monday, into a full length novel which means adding another 40k to the story. So manhandling bossy sex is coming your way! I quite like the idea of the bossy sex kinda creeping in slowly to their relationship. These two are so adorable when they're all awkward and fumbling, I'd like to drag that out a bit longer, them discovering each other's kinks and boundaries. And even though Jensen is the controlling one it's actually always Jared pushing him to try new stuff and to take control. I quite like the idea of it getting kinda dangerous and them having to pull back from the edge before they do actually get arrested : ) Gah, I miss those boys so much! Ive got a YEAR before I can start on that though : (

OMG! I can't do the dirty talk! No, honestly. I swear to you I cannot write sexytimes or rude stuff. I'm always genuinely shocked to go back and read my stuff and I'm like "Where the hell did all this fucking come from??" I shock myself. I think if it's part of the story then my brain has no problem.
Having said that I do have an SMPC date coming up...so watch this space ♥ xxx

1. Um, normally I know this question, but for Home...I'm not really sure. I think it was a combination of running out of snowed-into-a-cabin/strangers-to-lovers fic to read (I'm a firm believer in writing what you want to read) and realizing that shifter fic actually sells when I saw a story about hedgehog shifters (which looks fab and I still haven't read). Somewhere around those two it happened.

7. Oooo, good question. I think...making both Caleb and Jacob Alphas. I couldn't remember reading that before and I thought it added a nice conflict. It would be very different if Jacob was a beta.
Also, I'm not entirely sure where the kids came from. I really wanted the pack to function like an actual wolf pack (wolves are keen to raise other wolves pups and are very family oriented, unlike lions who will kill the offspring of other lions to advance their gene line) introducing them very much changed the story from a standalone to a series.

8. I don't know. Mostly because I feel like I'm not done. Each story in the series feels like an episode. There probably are but I'm still too entrenched in it to see just yet. I think their all about finding a family...idk. I should be done with them all by Christmas so ask me again then ; ) xx

*laughs* I'm the same, usually I know exactly when, where, and how, the inspiration came to me. Wolfhaven blindsided me good and proper. That saying is what keeps me writing too. x

I love this question, and your answer. The possibilities are endless, and sometimes make their way into sequels, or create entirely new series ;)

It's true that you probably won't be aware of all the intricacies until you reach the end and let your mind think on them a bit. With fic that happens for me around the time I'm editing and listening to a song that just fits perfectly with the story.
