Recs

Some things I saw I liked.

This is a tumblr post of some of the sound effect subtitles on the show. See if you can spot the sound of the fandom in there : )

This broke my heart.

Tiny Plastic Flowers by [livejournal.com profile] homo_pink killed me. It's so...I can't even. Just read it. I would give internal organs to be able to write like her.

The Holy or the Broken Hallelujah by [livejournal.com profile] pinkwithoutplot is so good. Read parts one and two so you're addicted and then help me nag her to finish it as I just can't stand the suspense! J2 AU priest!kink

Also, on Christmas morning I usually watch It's a Wonderful Life but this year I opted for The Christmas Cottage. I love it and not just because Jared is in it. The wonderful [livejournal.com profile] brightly_lit wrote this lovely piece about it so if you haven't seen it you can check it out here.

I hope everyone survived the Holiday Season mostly intact. Just New Year to go and it'll all be over : ) x

Aww--thanks for the rec, sweetie! Maybe this will inspire me to get off my ass and write the review of "We Bought a Zoo" (with Colin Ford!) I've been meaning to write!

... and maybe I'll have to write a review for Misha's wife's book "The Threesome Handbook," which I received for Christmas!

I really want to read that...but I feel totally embarrassed about it! So a review would be lovely...also, very much research, y'know, for the Bunker...x

Ooo I haven't seen that yet! I also keep meaning to check out 'Under the Dome' but I haven't read the book yet, as I'm so seriously behind with my King list! Yes, more please : ) x

"We Bought a Zoo" was GREAT--the most emotionally fulfilling movie I've seen in a long time.

As for "The Threesome Handbook," I was embarrassed at first, too! Also, she uses really raw, frank language that can be jarring. However, it's an easy read and normalizes the whole thing (and there's virtually nothing in there about Misha himself, which is kind of a relief), so once you get past all that (and the illustrations!! YES, ILLUSTRATIONS), it's not so bad.
