So I thought I was mildly fucked this morning when I got my springfling assignment through. I stared at it half the day, blank-brained and panicking, and then this evening, with the aid of gyoza, I had a breakthrough and I think I've come up with something that might be okay.

Ten minutes later I get my remix redux assignment.

So, yeah. Utterly fucked.

"Ooo, that'ud be fun" I thought. Nope Nu-uh. I've got a really good writer and I don't want to touch one word of it. No. Not a single word.

I got two pairings I can write so that was cool and then the prompts are pretty good too, not too restrictive. I have an idea I'm pretty excited about but it's very current and I'm not sure about spoilers and such. I think it might be okay.

You can do it. You can pick any story you want. Read whatever you pick until something jumps out at you as to where you can take the story. Read some remixes...kamikaze remix on lj is a good place to do that and see what other people did. Trust me, the first reaction everyone gets no matter who they are, who they got or how many times they've done it is panic.

I'm still feeling pretty panicked but actually...today I'm feeling guilty more than anything.
I was trying to imagine the face of the person who got me! Hahaha! Oh god, no, I do feel bad, even for making them read some of that stuff! Poor things. I hope I don't squick them : / x

When the lj remix come is active you send ONE story in that whoever is assigned it HAS to remix and everyone generally picks one that is a challenge, to put it nicely. So it could be worse!

OMG, I just got my remix assignment too and was like, AH!!!!!!! I'm not familiar with the writer - and fortunately she's very good. But she only writes gen! I mean, granted, it's not het (thank fuck), but not only is there not one single wincest fic in her repertoire, but no slash at all!

I'm not sure I can write under these conditions.
