Oh Lordy...
GISHERS! We did it! Are you all in one piece? I feel totally destroyed, bemused and kinda grossed out at how much housework I'm going to have to do after leaving everything this week. My kitchen is disgusting.
Over at
spn_bunker, we're kinda celebrating as it was our team's first year and we're feeling pretty pleased that we managed to get so many things done. Anyway
brightly_lit posted these questions as a debrief....so yeah. That. Or rather this...
What was the best part? Bizarrely, I think 4am this morning, desperately trying to get the poster finished in time and seeing all the email notifications popping up, with everyone pitching in, double checking the list, submitting like crazy people, and trying so hard to get as many things done in those last few hours as possible. That was truly amazing.
What are you proudest of? Doing it. I'm not a joiner. I don't usually work well in a group and doing anything social scares the shit out of me so just showing up was kind of a big thing for me : )
What was the worst part? The clothespins. Definitely the clothespins.
How do you feel now? Fucking exhausted. I've slept some but I feel awful. I'm smiling about it though : )
What was your greatest fear, and how did it pan out? I didn't really have one. I think our team had such a great variety of people in it, we all had different skills to bring to it so I found a whole bunch of stuff to do within my comfort zone. Rule one was have fun, after all : ) If anything, it was doing the timelapse video and being terrified that I would somehow lose the footage. It was so last minute it was kinda a one shot thing. It turned out okay though (although no more soda for me. Yuck!)
What did you do that you never in your life thought you'd do? Painted a pregnant woman
What was the hardest thing? Last night. Digital painting usually takes me an age so doing something that would normally take me two weeks in six hours and trying to stay awake too...that was tough.
What did you think would be hard that really wasn't? Jam. I always make such a palaver out of jam making. It took me two ticks yesterday. Admittedly it was over cooked but still edible : )
What was your favorite thing you did, and why? Feminine hygiene product angel. I did conceptual sculpture for my degree but its been years since I've done any. I had forgotten how much I love just finding random things and making something equally random out of it. That was fun.
What did you learn about yourself? I over complicate everything. If I just do stuff, stuff actually gets done!
What did you learn about other people? That as much as they make fun of me for being a geek, they will jump at the chance to do something weird and wacky : )
What did you learn about life? It's still happening
Other thoughts? Nope, I'm out. I think I used them up about 2pm Thursday. Although maybe one...I cannot WAIT for next year!!! : ) x

And I can't believe you did the clothes pins *bows before the Queen of Hardcore* (okay, that sounds different outside my head)
I'm so proud of you, and that's a great lesson to learn. When you just fucking do it, it gets done.

I'm starting to feel a bit better. Been sleeping on and off since Friday, trying to catch up. That last push was amazing but damn near killed me.
Was thinking of you guys. Hope you had as much fun as we did : ) ♥
I'm going to try and keep up the momentum...see if I can get some of my rl stuff done, GISHWHES-style : ) xx

I dreamt of Mishabara Capybollins last night. I know who I blame that for ^_^
It was a lot of fun, and I was constantly awed at the things you did - that angel was... so elegant! And your Picard! Just amazing.
You say you aren't so social, but I really enjoyed sharing the experience with you! I thought you were a wonderful team member :-)
