Heeee ikr, I feel like I am constantly just chatting up random strangers on LJ and I've never been able to tell whether that's totally kosher for the medium or weird as hell. XD OH WELL LOLOLOL.

Hahaha, so glad it's not just me!
Mostly I get super excited over fics and even up commenting all "OMG!!! I Love this!! *hugs you madly* You're AMAZING!!" and they're all "okaaay. Uh, thanks?" I can hear them slowly backing away from the keyboard as they're reading! It's so funny. Esp. as I'm really quiet and shy in rl until I know someone really well : ) x

Yesssss, exactly! My LJ persona is way more outgoing and capslocky than my RL one, omg. XD

I think it really helps that here we all have SPN and writng, or stories at least, in common that we can talk about but in rl you never know what you're going to get. It's that initial "please, please don't make me talk about sports or politics" thing that we get to skip, that makes it easier I think. Also no-one can see me flail : ) x
