So Cas is human now, with no grace and all, and he has the angel warding...but does that mean he can be possessed by demons as I can't remember anything being said about the anti-possession symbol?
We know and appreciate that the writers at least are aware of fanfic...so was "Dog Dean Afternoon" a shout out to all the knotting fans out there?
Crowley injecting human blood. Nice symmetry to Sam's own little problem and interesting way to get a bit of leverage (Mmm, Eliot...) on him...but we know what power Sam got from his blood drinking exploits, will Crowley be the one that gets the power to fix everything?
I still think the guy who picked Cas up in ep1 was God. Who else is going to roll his eyes at all that crazy, call him 'Son' and give him pocket money?
I want Meg back so she can have her unicorn...but goddammit, it would be good if she possessed Cas and was like his Ezekiel! Except good coz Zeke is clearly a baddun.
Is it just me or is there something wrong with Jensen's face? The first few eps he seemed like he was botoxed or something...maybe I've just been looking at him too much lately. It's not stopping me from wanting to bite him all over but it's bugging me.
I do think that one more season of the show is the right thing to do because although I'm still loving it wholeheartedly, it is getting a bit thin but mostly because I feel like I sold my soul to this show and 10 years is all you get. I think what Jensen said about them being dead dead is okay as long as they are together, John better be in the last ep, not Jess and I think God should finally show. It's the least he could do. And Sam should have short hair or at least shorter...maybe just a bit longer than Dean's.
I worry about Adam.

Date: 2013-11-16 03:59 pm (UTC)I still think Buffy is one of the best bits of storytelling telly but I know what you mean. I think I will watch some of the later seasons again and I'd quite like to watch Angel through one more time but I think I binged on it so much for so long that I over did it.
And really I think there wouldn't be SPN without Buffy. The show seriously trailblazed for all the geekness...but now we have a better soundtrack : ) x

Date: 2013-11-17 02:00 am (UTC)The thing about re-watching Buffy... is that Sarah Michelle was such a bad actress!!! She was great in Season One, but then it's like her care factor dropped completely. Whenever me and my friends sit down to watch anything after that first Season we're always shocked lol. I guess, at the time when the show first came out, we were slowly desensitized to it and never really noticed.
My point is, Jessica Alba is actually a decent actress. And that hasn't really come across in any of the films I've seen her in, so I can fully understand how she seems irritating. But in Dark Angel, she's sassy, badass, complex... hell, I could say the same things about the show in general. But at the same time, it's not an easy show for everyone to get into.
HAVING SAID THAT. If you are big a Dean!girl as I think you are, THEN YOU MUST WATCH IT. After a guest spot in Season 1, they get Jensen back as a regular in Season 2, and that's where you will see the birth of Dean Winchester ;p But give season 1 a shot first, because I'm a big believer of understanding backstory. If that's too hard then just skip to season 2 and it'll all be worth it, I promise :)
It's a much more urban show than SPN, so you won't see any flannel or hear any AC-DC in the pilot episode (another thing that sold me about SPN hahaha)... but it's the brainchild of James Cameron (Avatar, Terminator, Aliens) and OMG I'm just going to stop talking about this. I'm just going to start re-watching it right now. I usually do it once a year anyway lol!

Oh no, I can't just dip in so I'll powerdisc my way through them, probably during Hellatus, so it's less of a void. It's only two series after all (just realised that that's so not normal) Oooo, quite looking forward to that now!
I can live without the flannel as long as there's a tight tee or two....and my mind just wandered...*sighs*
I think the AC-DC moment was when I got truly hooked, although Eagles of Death Metal!
Anyway.
I shall probably start bugging you when I start watching Dark Angel as you may have noticed I can't shut up! Feel free to tell me to though : ) x

I usually do my yearly rewatch during Hellatus anyway, but I missed it this year because I was working on my Dean/Cas Big Bang and ended up rewatching Season 8 for research.
And yes, there are tight tees. There are lots of missing tees as well ;p I think they were really trying to save the show by getting Jensen topless a lot that year lololol!
UNF. So when are you going to start watching? lol. Actually, I'm not usually this chatty, but Jensen in Dark Angel is just... UNF.

when Max first breaks in and Logan pulls the shotgun on her and he says "I was expecting someone else" and she says "I guess it wasn't the pizza delivery guy" I had to pause for about ten minutes while I roared with laughter and scared the dog...
was desperately hooping for a babysitter ref to follow it up!
Completely innocent moment but then Supernatural does ruin everything : )

PS - you'll be amazed at how many familiar faces you'll see from other Canadian productions like Battlestar Galactica, Smallville etc. There's so many it should be a drinking game lol.
PPS - It was only a couple seconds of screentime, but I actually had to stop and scream when I saw who the Mayor's driver was - Ty Olsson really has been in everything ever made in Canada <3

Date: 2013-11-19 01:35 pm (UTC)Liked that Hannah didn't turn out to be her mother and like the little bit between Logan and Lydecker, even though nothing was said I thought that it was a nice set up potentially for a bit a of battle of wills between them.
Quite glad they got to the disappointing Zack incident quickly. I think I would have been bummed if they had strung it out and then it came to nothing...or not! Who knows what'll happen next!...well, you I guess...shh.
Like the little frisson between Logan and Max at the end. Cute : )
So far I've spotted the guys from numbers, ncis, the guy who plays Normal has been in everything, same with Lydecker... but Ty! You are eagle eyed, my friend! Had to go back and watch it again. Really is a blink and you miss him bit. But then I had a quick look at IMDB and he's also in Kingdom Hospital which I love! Which is crazy. But I guess I do get sensory overload from Benny's voice which so different to his native one so I'm not really thinking about anything else when he's on screen. I'm not sure a drinking game is advisable. Got to at least attempt to do some work this afternoon! x

Haven't seen Parker Lewis...I will take a look : ) I know Corin from The Stand, in which he was brilliant but so much so now I just get completely creeped out when I see him!
I'm having difficulty at the moment as I'm writing a Benny/Dean non-con so I'm having to watch all the purgatory bits over and over and over...the voice is really getting to me! I'm hoping I never meet anyone from the deep south in RL as I will probably pee my pants and pass out! x

Date: 2013-11-22 05:15 am (UTC)Speaking of comic relief, I'm always surprised when I catch an ep of NCIS and see Michael Weatherly being the funny guy, since he was such a serious character as Logan! It's the same with Bradley Cooper from the Hangover, because the first thing I saw him as was the nice-guy best-friend type in Alias :s
Anyway, Parker Lewis might be hard to watch now. It was kind of like the TV version of that 80s movie Ferris Beuller's Day Off. Which was great at the time, but probably pretty dated now. Jennifer Aniston was in it before Friends even :s
I am also rewatching Benny episodes, trying to find inspiration to write a sequel to that little ficlet you recced :) Ahhh I just love the little white bits in his beard as well... I just wanna scratch my fingers through it!!! *disappears to bunk*

Alias is another thing I missed. Maybe after Parker Lewis. Dated is okay esp. if it's like Ferris Bueller "anyone..anyone..." I do love that film : ) I find it really interesting watching old stuff as it can give more context to what people are writing now for shows. And there has been some really good stuff that had short runs too. Did you see The Unusuals with Jeremy Renner? Only 10 eps but I really liked it. Would have been nice to see how that turned out.
Now when you say "little ficlet" are you talking about the crazy amazing minipornfest that was Benny knows best...coz if it is I'm not moving from this screen until it appears!!

I'm trying to get mine finished but I've got two porn scenes to write, which is not my forte at all so I'm struggling a bit, as well as getting distracted by the beard, yes, but also the big hands *eyes roll back in head* and then last night I beta'd something for someone with him in and...dear god...just...well...I just hope they want me to have a look at the second draft : )
Oh and I should probably get some work done too : / although it's so cold here right now, I just want to spend all day wrapped up in front of a warm monitor...with Benny ; ) x

I've never heard of the Unusuals, though I do love Jeremy Renner :) I might check it out next Hellatus as I'm watching so many shows at the moment!
And yes, I'm trying to come up with a sequel for Benny Knows Best. Though I think it'll be from Dean's point of view. I think I may implode if I try to write Benny again so soon. Why is he so damn HAWT??!! As if it isn't hot enough in Australia right now. I envy your winter :s
BTW, ep5 dark angel is awesome. One of my faves from the first season :D

Watched the conference one where she has to sit next to Lydecker! WTF! Just kills me that she didn't just do him in then and there. Had a similar situation in Person of Interest recently (don't know if you watch that, but it's fab! Jim Unpronounceable is just dreamy) I was screaming at the TV. I know it's a plot device but still...just shoot him! x

Don't get me wrong, I love staying in on a rainy day to read or write... just not when it blows half your house away :s
Ep7! Yeah I saw that yesterday too! Another really good episode. You're right though, they can't really kill the bad guy off so early in the season lol. But I think it also shows how Max wants to be better than her enemy and her training by letting him live.
There were some great moment between Max and Logan in that episode too :) It so rare for them to have funny moments, the show's so friggin' serious all the time.
