18th Dec: majestic_duxk - what is your favourite non british main meal to eat?

Oooo, this is kinda hard, mostly as I'm trying to think what constitues a "British" meal. Apart from roast dinners and sandwiches, I'm not sure if anything is really that British...I guess stuff like haggis, jellied eels, laverbread or stargazy pie but really, that's not exactly on the standard British menu either. Mostly we are a nation composed of other cultures, it's just they've been around long enough that we've forgotten that.

So it's all pizza, pasta, curry, stirfry, burgers...stuff like that, none of which is really that British.

I guess for me though, I do like Japanese. Give me some gyoza, yakisoba, or something teriyaki or katsu curried and I'm happy : ) I can sushi and sashimi to a point, which is usually when the texture of raw fish suddenly reminds me I have raw dead flesh in my mouth and it doesn't matter how delicious it is I just can't. And I can't get down with the whole pickle thing they have going on either. But miso with smoked tofu is my comfort food and did I mention gyoza? Fried or steamed I can eat those little darlings until I explode!

Pretty much my main meal of all main meals is stirfry. Nothing fancy, just usually a red onion, red pepper, chicken breast, some peas and noodles all fried up with some soy sauce. I usually eat that 5 days out of 7 because easy and yum.

And omg I'm hungry now...
