This got me thinking about Xmassy fics and two of ash_carpenter's popped in my head.
Her Christmas Anti-Kink is just so funny. All season I've been having to bite my lip to stop guffawing everytime I see fairylights.
Also, Cinders. I know not technically Xmassy but it's like a 70k word Panto  For the non Brits, Panto is a theatrical production primarily for children, but with undertones that are adult, of a fairytale or nursery rhyme which is known for audience participation, men in drag, slapstick and b-list actors in key roles over the Christmas/New Year period.  Explanation of characters here      Awful one to watch here   choc full of the mad, bad, twisted, funny stuff that Ash does so well. Made me feel festive. Gonna read it again with eggnog!

Oh Come On!
I was seriously doing the "Boo! Hiss!" thing everytime Wesley is in a scene and I think I yelled "He's behind you!" at least once! *snickers* All it needs is Buttons and a bit of tinsel!

Just so you don't feel bad . . . here is one I wrote. It's explicit and wrong and I thought it was my darkest to date. But then I did the bad boys remix, and it isn't explicit, but it's even worse.

It's half set in the Buffy/Angel!verse, which is probably why you haven't read it...

(By "set", I mean there are lots of characters from there. It's not actually set anywhere except really really dark rapey fairy tale world.)

It sounds like you're talking about Broken In, which I wrote for hardcore BB - that's on my LJ. It's only about 30k though. Lockdown was much longer and all rapey, but again it was a crossover with BtVS.

It's hard for me to write very long SPN fics - there just aren't enough characters to play with that I'm actually interested in. That's why I like using the Buffyverse still - it's easy to get an ensemble cast of pretty boys that I want to hurt/ do the hurting.

I'm so decidedly hurt!Dean it isn't cool. I miss out on a bunch of great dark!fic because of it. It just doesn't . . . feed my craving. I feel dissatisfied.

I complain about it but I guess taste is not something one can control.

I'm not sure I understand your complaint.

All the fics I'm talking about are hurt!Dean. It's the only type of Dean I do, really. It's just that there is hurt!a-lot-of-other-people too.

Generally, very high word count fics with only two characters in can get samey. Well, that's my opinion anyway. It's the same with books/ movies.

Well, there is a problem when it limits the amount of fic you will read. *sad face* There is so much bottom!hurt!Sam/Jared by great authors I love that I'm missing out on. I want to be flexible that way.
