I used to cry when my son would run up to anyone in camis (uniform) thinking it was his dad and being disappointed when it wasn't. I think he may have forgotten who he is now. It hurts me a little bit, except he doesn't seem to miss him in the slightest.

I feel really, really bad for you. Holy hell, how mortifying. I'm getting even. I'm going to embarrass the hell outta my kids when they're teenagers. I'm still cool at the moment.
Oh jesus that is heartbreaking. I split from my ex when my son was three and a half and he only would see him a couple of times a year for an afternoon. They're making an effort now to get to know each other which is good...but I hate my ex with such vitriol I have to stay completely out of it. I've tried to stay as neutral as poss with my son about it but it's so unacceptable when they just run out like that. The small boy will be fine though...there might be tricky bits but kids are more resilient than we give them credit for.
Oooo no, no dating. Just a guy we met in the park. I'm horribly shy with guys so I can't think of anything worse than that...pathetic, I know! I'm determined to at least try and make more effort next year.

That boy . . . He's 22 or something and I'm like, damn that's young. My ex was three years and some months younger than me and I learned my lesson. My first husband was seven years older (didn't have any children with him). Men need to stop asking me to marry them. LOL. I tell them up front, Hey I'm pretty crazy.
