I just read an article about a court case and I just...

So this woman meets a guy online and he's nice and they want to meet for sexy times but he's really worried about his appearance as he's recovering from lots of surgery for a brain tumour and has mobility issues that he's self consccious about. But after being reassured by a mututal girl friend that he's a nice guy, she goes to the hotel, puts on a blindfold and lies down on the blossom strewn bed. The guy comes out of the bathroom, sexy times happen, everybody's happy.

Except...

One time they're doing the do and for some reason the woman takes off her blindfold. And who should be standing there but the mutual friend - I'm assuming still wearing the "prosthetic penis" – who encouraged her to do this ridiculous thing.

And the friend says... "It's not what you think."

No. No, I really think it is. What on earth else could it possibly be?!

Just when you think you've heard everything, the capacity of human beings to do the most bizarre, stupid things never fails to surprise.

In other news, I was seriously impressed that I managed to do the dishes last night while under the influence. I was, however, surprised to find a ladder in my hallway, and that I answered a few comments* too! I should drink more often : ) Clearly, I get stuff done : )

Your faces...I love them ♥

*apologies for any overt dorkishness while hammered : /

I think it's a cultural thing that makes it really hard to get convictions when women are rapists, esp if the victim is a man. We still have this underlying idea that women are fragile and coy and aren't sexually motivated. I'm glad they went ahead and prosecuted her instead of playing it down.

I wonder if it was just one of those things that started off as a bit of a joke but got completely out of hand. The whole world is making my head hurt right now! xx

That's entirely possible, and if that's the case, I feel sorry for all involved, but that's still no excuse to take a person's choice from them, in whatever guise!

the world hurts my head regularly.

I come from a background where spousal violence was prevalent and it's no excuse no matter the gender! The only time you should ever 'smack' someone is in defence of yourself. Women are just as capable of being a aggressor in that situation and it bugs the crap out of me that no one seems to be held accountable. And if the man defends himself, he gets prosecuted.

Thank the whoever we're passed the days where women were considered chattel and a man's property...

xx

Only just though...I remember when spousal rape was made illegal...in the eighties! Unbelievable that people thought it was just fine for that to happen not so long ago.

People are so weird xx
