Lily has an ulcer on her eyeball.

I just can't right now.

It wouldn't be quite so bad but I have a dentist appointment now and a doctors appointment this afternoon and literally no one that I can leave her with.

She's in pain and can't see and I'm going to have to leave her alone for two hours.

Id ask for a break but being that I managed to borrow some money so I can pay for her treatment, I think I've had all the breaks I'm getting.

Fuck it all.

Just when you think you've heard everything, the capacity of human beings to do the most bizarre, stupid things never fails to surprise.

In other news, I was seriously impressed that I managed to do the dishes last night while under the influence. I was, however, surprised to find a ladder in my hallway, and that I answered a few comments* too! I should drink more often : ) Clearly, I get stuff done : )

You know you're definitely living in the wrong climate when the papers are saying there's a "killer heat wave" going on but yesterday you were wearing a jumper, coz your arms felt a bit chill.

Admittedly, it was a bit disconcerting going out at 5.30am this morning and it being 19*C...but also Fucking Lovely. I did jogging and everything.

I think things would be different if I had to work outside in the sun or needed to rush around and I am prone to sunstroke...but also I can actually breath through my nose for once so meh.

I need to move some where it like this for more than four days a year.

Seriously.

So last weekend I was at the family place and they have a TV. I don't have one and haven't for several years. I don't feel like I miss much, especially the commercial breaks...except I caught this ad and...well, I'm not sure what the hell is going on.

Can someone please explain this? Is there a vital piece of recent pop culture that I'm missing that would make it clear what's going on? I'm wholeheartedly in favour of alpacas but why the theme music from the popular 1970's children's drama, Grange Hill?

Why?

I know I'm easily confused but...I just don't get it : /

Just wanted to quickly rec this article. I saw something about it on Upworthy the other day but didn't have a chance to read it.

If there's not a fic/book/movie in this then I give up...

Basically, this little girl feeds the crows in her garden for so long...they start bringing her gifts in return. The best part is how she treasures these things, hoarding bits of broken jewellery and pieces of colored glass like they are the most precious things in the world. Christ, it's so lovely!

Anyway, I thought y'all might like it : ) esp.
