Fundraiser
Jun. 15th, 2016 11:35 amTrying to get back to normal after the events of the weekend, but just wanted to drop this here.
It was Jay Northcote's birthday yesterday but she spent it quickly getting this together to raise money for The Human Rights Campaign in the USA and Stonewall in the UK.
It's a transformed Merlin fanfic of hers and is rather lovely. And if you're worried about the money getting to where it needs to go, don't be. She's one of the most transparent authors I've met.
For those of us who want to do something but don't know where to start, reading this lovely story is as good a place as any.

I'm still reeling from the events of yesterday. I watched it play out on Facebook, watching friends frantically messaging each other back and forth, searching for news of missing loved ones.
Today is worse, seeing the names of the victims scroll up alongside the pro-gun lobby defending their position, and platitudes from people who have been persecuting the LGBT community to line their own pockets for years.
But people are pulling together to help the victims and their families. And I thought my LJ family might be interested in this post by Lily G. Blunt.
"I've been devastated by the recent events in Orlando as I'm sure many of you have been.
I’m planning to create a Love is Love POETRY anthology in support of the victims/families in Orlando. All royalties will be donated.
If you would like to assist or contribute in any way, please contact me.
Submissions can vary in length from one short verse to a maximum of 2000 words. You do not have to be a published author or poet to submit. I’m looking for poems that come from the heart and demonstrate your belief that LOVE IS LOVE.
Submission Deadline is June 27th 2016 with the aim to publish before the end of July.

Jun. 10th, 2016 11:53 amYesterday was long. So long it didn't finish until the early hours of this morning. There were many tears of frustration and panic but I'm almost done. Just waiting for Createspace to do its thing and then I can get back to the fun stuff : )
But right now, I'm led out with the dog, feeling like a wet noodle and trying to will myself to go get something decent to eat. Except I just have to listen to this song one more time.

My friend Catherine Lievens has just powered through Supernatural for the first time and loved it.
She's asking on FB for some Destiel fanfic recs, and I'd really love to be able toviolently shake some sense into her point her in the right direction, but it's not my area.
