NaNoWriMo starts so soon, I can almost smell it!

Last year, I bummed out, mainly as I got distracted by fanfic ...SQUIRREL!...but this year I will be tackling the BB and aiming to get my first draft of that done. (They even have a fanfic option in the genre categories. *bites fist*)

But even if you don't fancy writing 1667 words a day for 30 days, you can still take advantage of all the lovely writing advice on the website. I don't think you have to sign up to see it, but even if you do, it's free and there are some really good articles, writing exercises and advice from some really, really good writers. Even on the prep page, they have some good links to actual practical advice...I particulaly like the woman who says we MUST eat chocolate.

As resources go, I think this might be a good one. Just thought I'd mention it : )

The best thing is, if you really are specific in your request, they seem to be complying!!!

Please spread this information, since they have apparently stolen content from tons of pages. (They even admit it in comment, that since they post stuff from like a thousand pages, they didn't want to take the time to as for everyones permission! They even used Creative Commons licence as an excuse to stealing, even though content needs to be clearly marked for CC before it falls under it. Stupid people are stupid...)

All this being said, I've regained some hope in the world, and just want to shout a big YES to this victory :)

septembers_coda is a horrible influence. I wasn't going to do NaNoWriMo this year but then she's getting all excited about it and might do a comm so we can help each other a long and stuff...and now I'm doing it. Goddammit.
I'm going to be using it to get ahead on my J2BB for next year...which I know I've started but getting the bulk of the first draft done before Festivus I think would be good. So start taking the fish oils and look out for that fairly soon if you fancy doing it too!!

Things I have learnt whilst not having the internets

I cannot look up the number of the service that can come fix my router...because my router is broken.
I don't know what circle of hell that is but oh my god, my brain nearly shortcircuited.

My 3G phone does not get 3G in the house...

I cannot watch TV...
or listen to music...
or use my printer (fuck knows where that cable is)...

I cannot check the weather to see if it's safe to walk the dog without getting drenched...
I cannot fact check anything if I want to write some fic...
I cannot source photos to do artwork...
My DVD collection seems to consisted almost entirely of Japanese horror, Gerald Bulter and RDJ...

It was basically me and the (wet) dog sitting in a room for 3 days, feeling like the rest of the universe had evaporated.

I didn't like it.

I also learnt that when the new router arrives, the sticker that says "Takes 20 minutes to set up the best communication" really doesn't take into account how motivated a fangirl can be if she knows there's a season opener waiting out there in the ether : )

Two people who I don't know who they are are trying to talk to me on Skype...I'm just ignoring it.

Someone friended me today...and then unfriended me a few hours later. Obviously read some of the fic... *coughs* icon *coughs* : )

Yesterday, I saw a man BUYING MINCE PIES! It's SEPTEMBER!! What the actual fuck.

I have now watched every single episode of Midsomer Murders. Notable moments - Orlando Bloom buying it, talking about figging, priest doing the exorcizamus te, aaaaaaall the incest, all the vicars/priests being gay - everyone knowing and nobody caring, the sprechen hunde, the Brighton ep, S7, 8, 9 being fairly awful but S10 onwards definitely getting a lot better (bodes well, I thought), unexpectedly ending up in floods of tears when John Nettles character retired.

Also caught up on Doctor Who. I'm liking it. Laughing so much! The scripts are very very funny! But, also the teaser for the next one scared the shit out of me! I'm afraid of the dark so I will be watching that one on a lunchtime, I think : ) x
