IT'S THE WEEKEND!!

Starting this week, I'm giving myself the weekends off (except for Sunday promo, obviously) because for the last few months I've been working every day and I'm genuinely worried I'm going to burn out.

For half an hour tonight, starting at 9pm BST (1pm EDT, 4pm PDT, I think) I'll be at Victoria Sue's release party on Facebook talking about Home Is Where You Are, werewolves, and...well, whatever you want to talk about, I guess.

I've never done one of these before but I think readers just come by and ask questions and we chat...? I don't even know. So if you have time to drop by, it would be nice to see some friendly faces : )

Also, I'll be doing a giveaway of a paperback and some other swag thingies...which may or may not be an incentive : )

1. I'm trying to post a bit more and that's going okay, but if you missed it, there's a new comm called

amilliondays, set up in response to the shit-fest that is 2016, and inspired by the 100 Days of Happiness meme that's going around. People have been cross posting their happy thoughts there, but just to be awkward, I've just been posting random things that have made me smile. I could cross post to here but...nah. ii Tomorrow I'm been asked to do some sort of Facebook author chat event thingy to help with someone's book launch...I've no idea what the fuck is going on as usual.
Anyway, I have to turn up and talk about stuff, and do a giveaway, apparently?
I figured that I could giveaway a paperback copy of Home Is Where You Are as they're available now with some other swag type stuff, but I have to ask a question for people to win it. I've no clue what sort of thing to ask so if y'all have any bright ideas, prompt me bitches.

OMG I just finished the last commission of the year, which means I am DONE! I have mailing to do but otherwise that's it! \0/

I'm feeling crazy positive about next year, health, writing and art-wise, so I just can't wait to clear the decks, do the festive thing and then get on with it!!

Oh my lordy...so close. I have to be done tomorrow with this commission before she sues my ass...I can't wait to think about something else! Anyway...I was going to wait til I was done but...well...wine...

10 fannish things that no-one knows about me...stolen from everyone : )

1. I wear Dean's ring and I have the possession symbol and quote from BtVS tattoos.

2. The fic that got me into the fandom was Mile High Club by

merihn. I'd happened upon LJ and read some things but when I read this...I don't know...there was something about it. It was sweet and hot and I ended up reading everything of hers and when I was done I checked her flist and that's how I got to

ash_carpenter's journal. You know the rest from there : )

3. Since 9.23, I've only managed to watch one episode of SPN, Yellow Fever. I'm still upset.

4. My favorite SPN quote, which I find is the perfect balance of horrifying and so funny..."Yes! It's me. Lilith!" *clings to it*

5. I get so overly invested in fictional characters that I stop watching shows because I just can't stand it...House, Dexter, Millennium, X-Files, Hannibal, etc, etc. Sometimes I deliberately watch shows knowing they've been cancelled in the first season (Life, Raines, The Unusuals, The Dresden Files) so that I know I'll make it to the end : /

6. To my knowledge I have watched every single episode of Murder, She Wrote, including the Magnum PI crossover. I have an idea for a pitch to relaunch the series but I'm too scared to write it.

7. I own all but the three latest Stephen King books, including the pop-up version of The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, but I haven't read them all. But that's because I've read The Stand about 12 times.

8. I think Jared is just...well. I think Jensen is the perfect guy. But I would marry Ty Ollson in a heartbeat.

9. I used to be able to recite the Exorcizamus Te (long form from Jus in Bello) by heart but I've forgotten most of it. I need to practice.

10. Okay...desperate and the wine is kicking in...my son really really looks like Jared Padalecki...like a lot...with the hair and everything...although he's only 6'2"...and NO I'm not sending any of you perverts pictures! We don't talk about it.

How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for?
I first found my way to the SPN Family and fanfic on LiveJournal last year. I read for a few months before writing something and posting it with a huge amount of support from ash_carpenter and haven't stopped since : )

So, after working on a story for about 25 years, finally writing it down and giving yourself RSI in the process, after getting the draft in when you thought you weren't going to make it, after hitting 55k when you thought you were going to struggle to reach 20k, after doing a second draft and finally sending it off to be beta'd, what do you do? Take a rest? Have an early night? Catch up on some housework?

No. Apparently, you stay up all night...again (Yup. No sleep here) and podfic a story that basically has no punctuation in it.
